Self Worth

My self worth is one of my biggest issues. If we don't believe in ourselves we can't expect others too? If we don't love ourselves, how can we love another? And equally if we don't respect ourselves, how can we demand respect from others?
Respecting my body (through fitness and clean nutrition) is something I previously prioritized over everything. This is great right?... Well, yes and no. It's important to respect our bodies. But not to the detriment of our minds. In the past I took my interest in fitness and nutrition too far. It made me feel so good, better than anything else, that perhaps it became an obsession. But too much of anything can equally be a bad thing, especially if it means we neglect other areas - personal and social development - emotional and mental activity. The body and mind are 100% interrelated and each should be given equal attention. The key in the end to overall health, both mental and physical (and I would argue to happiness also) is BALANCE. The universe has a very clever way of trying to lead you down the right path. It constantly sends us lessons to teach us. If we ignore these signs, time and time again it will keep sending us tests. We will cross paths with the wrong people, those who do not respect us. People who are unsupportive of our goals and create further doubt in our minds. It all comes down to the law of attraction. Keep doubting yourself and you'll attract those who doubt your ability also. Don't respect yourself?... Then likewise, you'll attract more people who use and abuse you until you realise that it is YOU that is allowing them to do so. And this will continue until you break the habit and develop the strength you need to deal with such interactions - until you believe you are worth more. People who demand respect do not need to verabilise it. By simply meeting them you can feel from their aura that that will not accept being treating any other way. YOU have the power to change your story. YOU are in control of your own destiny. Don't play the same tape again and again. Take responsibility and create the life you not only want, but deserve. And remember... life is just one long journey. There are supposed to be twists and turns. And just as you break one nonfunctional behaviour the universe will send another test for you to endure. This is quite simply...Life.
